A Behind-the-Scenes Look at How SevenYays Curates Gifts

Ever wondered how your SevenYays box actually comes together? Pull up a chair. We're taking you behind the scenes.

Spoiler: there's a lot more thought that goes into each item than you might think. No random tat here, thank you very much.

It Starts with a Question

Every item in our collection starts the same way: "Would we genuinely want to receive this?"

Sounds simple, but it's surprisingly effective. We're not interested in filling boxes with stuff for the sake of it. We want items that make people go "oh, that's lovely" not "oh, I'll stick that in a drawer somewhere."

If we wouldn't be thrilled to open it on Day 3, it doesn't make the cut.

Supporting Independent British Businesses

Here's something we're properly proud of: we work with independent British suppliers wherever possible. Not because it sounds good (though it does), but because these small businesses create genuinely brilliant products.

That gorgeous candle? Probably hand-poured by a small business in Yorkshire. Those bath products? Likely crafted by an independent brand that actually cares about ingredients.

When you choose a SevenYays box, you're not just supporting us. You're supporting a whole network of independent makers and creators across the UK. That feels good, doesn't it?

The Quality Bar Is High (Really High)

We test everything. And we mean everything.

Does this candle actually smell as lovely as it claims? Will these bath products turn someone's evening around? Is this chocolate genuinely delicious or just expensive? Does this item genuinely deserve a spot in someone's celebration week?

If something doesn't meet our standards, it simply doesn't go in the box. We've rejected loads of products that looked good on paper but didn't deliver in real life.

Your SevenYays box isn't a random collection of things we found wholesale. It's a curated selection of items we've genuinely fallen for ourselves.

Sustainable Packaging Matters

Right, let's talk about packaging. Because it matters, and we're not just paying lip service to "being green."

Our boxes are recyclable. The inner packaging is too. We're constantly looking at ways to reduce waste without compromising on that lovely unboxing experience.

It's a balancing act: we want your box to feel special and exciting when it arrives, but we don't want to wrap it in seventeen layers of plastic that'll outlive us all.

Building Boxes That Tell Stories

Each SevenYays box isn't just seven random items. It's a carefully planned journey.

When we're developing a new theme, we think about how each day builds on the last. Day 1 might ease you in gently. Days 2 to 6 develop the theme, complementing each other. Day 7 brings it all together with that big final gift moment.

It's like planning a really good meal. You wouldn't serve seven starters and call it dinner, would you? Each course needs to work with the others, building towards something satisfying.

The Seventh Day Selection

When it comes to Door 7, we're all about finding that perfect final gift. Whether it's a luxe version of something they love or that item they'd never buy themselves, it needs to feel special.

We work with brilliant suppliers to offer options that truly deliver on that seventh day moment.

Listening to You

Here's something lovely: loads of our products come from customer suggestions. Someone mentions they'd love to see a specific type of item? We go hunting for the best version we can find.

We read every review. We pay attention to what people love and what they think could be better. Our selection keeps evolving because you keep telling us what works.

It's Not Just Business, It's Personal

Look, we could buy everything from one massive supplier and call it a day. It'd be easier and probably more profitable.

But that's not why we started SevenYays.

We started this because we genuinely believe people deserve celebrations that last longer than a day. We believe in supporting small businesses creating quality products. We believe in sustainable practices and thoughtful gifting.

Every box we send out is something we'd be proud to receive ourselves. That's the standard.

What Goes Into Your Box?

When you receive a SevenYays box, you're getting:

• A curated selection of gifts for them, which you can upgrade to make it even more personal
• Products from independent British suppliers who genuinely care about quality
• Items we've personally tested and fallen for
• A handwritten letter sealed with a red wax seal
• Sustainable, recyclable packaging
• A week-long celebration that's been properly thought through
• Support for small businesses across the UK

That's a lot more than just seven gifts behind seven doors, all wrapped up and ready to open, isn't it?

Want to Know More?

We're always happy to chat about our suppliers, our sustainability practices, or how we choose what goes in our boxes. Just ask. We're dead proud of how we do things, and we love sharing the details.
